Puffed Rice is known as Pori in Tamil. It is used in different ways. We can make spicy puffed rice for a snack, puffed rice upma, bhel Pori and so on. Spicy Pori, Popcorn, spicy lotus seeds are our favourite snacks and they are healthy too. Kara Pori is one of the famous snacks in my hometown Coimbatore. We make this very often and you can find kara pori in most of the house. We keep munching this during teatime. It is a simple yet tasty snack. We get salty puffed rice in India but what we get here is without salt, so we have to add a generous amount of salt while preparing this recipe. You don’t have to make this every day. This stays fresh in an air-tight container for 8 to 10 days so we make in bulk and store it for everyday use.
