Mince rice is a quick recipe. It can be made with leftover rice and easily available ingredients. Mince meat takes very less time to cook. Make sure you use mince meat and not the finely chopped meat. Once I tried this recipe in India where we get chopped meat but not the minced. The real taste of Keema rice was not achieved. This dish can be served with Keema curry.

Ingredients

  • 200 gms of Lamb mince
  • 1 finely chopped Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon of grated Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon of grated Ginger
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice (I have used Basmati Rice)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Coriander leaves
  • 1 finely chopped Green Chillies
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • Oil
  • Salt to Taste

Method

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry the chopped onion until translucent.
  2. Then add grated ginger, garlic and green chillies and turmeric. Saute this mixture for 30 seconds.
  3. Keep cooking until the onions are soft and brown.
  4. Now add in lamb mince and allow it to brown without stirring much. Constant stirring will make the mince release all its juices.
  5. Once mince is cooked well. Add salt, garam masala followed by lemon juice.
  6. Saute the mixture really well then add the cooked basmati rice.
  7. Mix everything well and turn off the heat and sprinkle the chopped coriander.
  8. Serve with Keema curry.
