Mushroom is not my favourite but I like to add in our diet. Mushroom takes very less time to cook so you can make this biryani in no time. Serve Mushroom Biryani with mixed vegetable Raita.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmathi Rice
  • 200 gms Mushroom
  • 4 Cloves
  • 4 Cardamoms
  • 1 Small Cinnamon
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 2 Medium size Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli, Slit
  • 2 Tablespoons Ginger Garlic Paste
  • ¼ cup Mint leaves
  • ¼ cup Coriander leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt, to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in cooker, add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves, bay leaf and let it crackle.
  2. Add chopped onions and fry till they become transparent.
  3. Then add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and fry till the aroma comes out.
  4. Now add chopped tomatoes and add little salt to speed up the process. Cook till tomatoes are soft.
  5. Then add chilli powder and sauté for a minute.
  6. Now add chopped mushroom, mint and coriander leaves and fry for 2 minutes.
  7. Now add rice and fry a little.
  8. Add 3 cups of water and check the salt and close the lid.
  9. Let it cook on medium heat for 1 or 2 whistle depends on your pressure cooker.
  10. Serve Mushroom Biryani with any Raita or Chilli Gobi.
