OPOS is One Pot One Shot, which will save your time. We are going to OPOS Chicken Biryani, which can be made in 6 mins. Yes, You heard me right, it takes 6 minutes to cook this biryani if all the preparation is ready for biryani.

OPOS Chicken Biryani

OPOS Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmathi Rice, soaked 30 mins and drained
  • 1 Tablespoon Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Ghee
    For Marination
  • 500g Chicken, Cut into small pieces
  • ¼ cup Mint leaves
  • 1 Green Chilli, slit
  • 3 Tablespoons Fried Onions
  • ½ Teaspoon Biryani Masala/Garam Masala
  • ½ Teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Yogurt

Method

  1. Take a bowl, marinate chicken and other ingredients given under “For Marination”.
  2. Mix well and allow it to marinate for few hours or use it immediately.
  3. Take 2 L pressure cooker, add 1 Tablespoon water and 1 Tablespoon Ghee.
  4. Then take half of the marinated chicken and evenly spread as the bottom layer.
  5. Next layer is soaked basmathi as the second layer.
  6. Now again layer the remaining chicken as the 3rd layer covering the rice completely with the chicken.
  7. Cover the pressure cooker and cook on the high heat for 5 whistle which will take 6 minutes.
  8. Turn of the heat and allow the pressure to settle.
  9. Once the pressure settles, Open the cooker and gently mix the biryani.
  10. Serve Chicken Biryani with Raita.
    Tips and Variations:
  1. Do not change the recipe and ingredients.
  2. Use the exact measurements given in the recipe.
  3. Use 2L pressure cooker.
  4. Use only Induction or Gas Stove. I have used Induction for my cooking.
  5. Use measuring cup to measure the ingredients. Do not mix the rice and chicken before cooking.
  6. Do not add extra water. This will cook perfectly with the 1 tablespoon water and I tablespoon ghee.
