Keto is high fat and low carb or zero carb diet. This diet benefits against diabetes, cancer or even epilepsy disease. This diet is cutting down your carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat food. In Keto Curd Chia recipe, we are going to see an interesting recipe which tastes similar to curd rice but honestly, this is better than curd/yogurt rice. Chia seeds are extremely soft and jelly when it is soaked in the water. The texture of this seed after soaking makes the dish tastier.

We are going to soak the chia seeds for an hour and mix them with curd/yogurt then the simple south Indian tempering will be added for more taste.

About Keto Food:

We are allowed to eat low carb vegetables such as Broccoli, Cabbage, Avacado, Asparagus, Tomato, Zucchini, Cauliflower, Bell Pepper, Mushroom, Cucumber, Spinach, Kale, Green Beans, etc.

Moderate Carb foods: Carrots and onions High Carb Vegetables: Beetroot, Peas, Potato, Sweet Potato, Corn, Yam, etc

Other food on the Keto diet: You can eat Meat & Poultry, Cheese, Eggs, Yogurt, Sea Food, Cottage Cheese, Coconut oil, Nuts & Seeds, Berries, Butter, Dark Chocolate.

Vegetables growing above the ground are Low carbs and vegetables growing below the ground are High Carbs.

Tips to make perfect curd chia seeds:

  1. Soak chia seeds in enough water.
  2. Use good yogurt for better taste.
  3. You can adjust the red chillies in tempering according to your preference.
  4. You can even store the prepared curd chia in the fridge before serving.

Here is the detailed recipe:

Take 1/4 cup chia seeds and add 1 cup water. Allow it to soak for an hour.

Chia seeds will be very soft after we soak them for an hour. Keep the soaked chia seeds aside. Let’s do the tempering. Take a pan, add 2 tbsp oil.

Then add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp channa dal

Then 1 tsp urad dal, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Then 2 red chillies, 2 sprigs of curry leaves and saute them.

Tempering is ready. Now add 1/2 cup yogurt/curt with soaked chia seeds

Mix well. Add water if the yogurt is too thick. Then add the tempering and mix everything well.

Curd Chia Seeds are ready to serve.

Chia seeds soaked in water for an hour and mixed with yogurt and South Indian tempering to make a healthy lunch or dineer.

Ingredients

  • Chia Seeds - 1/4 cup
  • Curd/Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Bengal Gram/Channa Dal - 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
  • Red Chillies - 2 numbers
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil for tempering

Method

  1. Take ¼ cup chia seeds in a bowl, add 1 cup of water and allow the seeds to soak for ½ hour to 1 hour.
  2. After soaking, seeds will be very soft like jelly.
  3. Take a small pan, add 2 tbsp oil, then add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp channa dal, 1 tsp urad dal, ½ tsp cumin seeds and saute them.
  4. Now add 2 red chillies, 2 sprigs of curry leaves and allow it to crackle for few seconds and switch off the flame.
  5. Then take soaked chia seeds and add ½ cup yogurt, salt to taste and mix well.
  6. Add little water if it is too thick.
  7. Now add the tempering along with chia seeds and yogurt and mix well.
  8. Curd chia seeds are ready to serve.
